The votes are in for September’s Tout Bout! Congratulations to Catherine Bowen Mijs, Joel Rosenbaum, Greg Trott and Karen Robes Meeks, whose videos were voted the best of Digital First Media for the month of September.
Catherine Bowen Mijs, Joel Rosenbaum, and Greg Trott, from the Reporter in Vacaville, Calif., win the $200 prize for the best Tout shot on a mobile device. They beat out three other finalists in the mobile category with their “7-Alarm Fire” coverage taking 41 percent of the vote. Coming in second was “HS Football” by Robert Casillas of the Daily Breeze and Paula Mitchell of the Daily Freeman came in third with ”Car Accident.“
Karen Robes Meeks‘ “Boeing C-17″ won the $100 award for fantastic videos that were not shot and edited on a mobile device, but were distributed with Tout. This allows for some creative styling and advanced editing that just isn’t as easy on a mobile phone. Meeks, from the Long Beach Press-Telegram, earned 57 percent of the vote with her coverage of Boeing’s C-17 take-off from Long Beach airport.
Congratulations to all of the finalists!
Stay tuned to Inside Thunderdome for the announcement of our next Tout Bout. You can subscribe to our blog post feed on the right rail of the site, or follow us on Twitter). If you have a recent Tout you want to nominate now, go ahead, we’ll count them in the next Bout.
