Andy Rhinehart is a Solutions Specialist for Project Thunderdome, helping develop innovative initiatives for Digital First Media's centralized news operation.
Mr. Rhinehart joined DFM in October 2012 after a stint as an online services specialist at Saxotech, where he helped provide support and development for the company's client base.
Prior to joining Saxotech, Mr. Rhinehart spent more than two decades working for news companies throughout the Southeast. An award-winning sports writer and editor for the first half of that period, he made the transition to digital in 1998, serving as the first full-time online editor for the Herald-Journal in Spartanburg, S.C. There he created and launched GoUpstate.com, consistently recognized as one of the top news sites in South Carolina during his tenure.
Mr. Rhinehart joined the Herald-Journal's parent company, The New York Times Regional Media Group, in 2008, serving as product manager for search, search engine optimization and analytics in addition to helping with product development for the company's 16 newsrooms in six states.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Mr. Rhinehart lives in North Carolina with his wife and two children.
