Gary Kicinski

Over the past 14 years, Gary Kicinski has held the top digital sports position at the nation's two largest newspaper companies.

As Sports Channel Manager for Digital First Media, Gary has collaborated with sports editors from the company's 70+daily newspapers to coordinate and redistribute content from events such as the Sochi Winter Olympics, Super Bowl and NCAA Tournament. He has forged partnerships with sports content providers in areas such as data and video. He also manages a sports staff at DFM's "Thunderdome" office that creates and curates content for the company.

Prior to coming to Thunderdome, he had been overseeing digital sports content for USA TODAY from 2000-2012, a role that also involved working with Gannett's 80+ daily newspaper properties on digital content distribution.

A native of Detroit and a Wolverine-loving graduate of the University of Michigan, he has worked for newspapers in Burlington, Vt.; Fort Myers, Fla.; and Cincinnati.

He and his wife Kate live in Alexandria, Va., and have a son, Andrew, who is a graduating senior at Virginia Tech.
